Embiid has 36 points and 13 rebounds, 76ers beat Wizards

Washington, Dec. 27 (BNA): Joel Embiid scored 36 points and 13 rebounds and clashed with Montrezel Harrell. Tobias Harris added 23 points and the Philadelphia 76ers beat Washington Wizards 117-96 on Sunday evening.

Philadelphia improved to 17-16 after dropping four of the last five.

Spencer Dinwiddy led Washington with 17 points. Witches also 17-16.

3 straight throws were made by Therese Maxi, Seth Curry and Embiid 15-0 that put 76 out 80-59 with 5:22 to play in the third quarter, the AP reports.

With 3:04 left in the third, Harrell Embiid missed, and the two exchanged words. Both were evaluated for technical fouls, and Embiid made two free throws.

Thirty seconds later, Harel pushed Embiid, yelled at him, gave his second technique and was kicked out. Harel, who did not leave the court immediately, was finally escorted to the ground, and left shaking his head as Embiid waved to him goodbye.

Washington’s scoring leader Bradley Beal sat for his second game while in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
