Education Minister receives Irish medical accreditation delegation

Manama, October 22 (BNA) The Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, received a delegation representing the accreditation committee of Irish medical colleges.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sheikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Committee, Vice President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Yousef Ismail, and the Arabian Gulf University. Dean of the College of Medicine Dr. Abdel Halim Deifallah.

The delegation, which includes Professor John Donoghue, Professor Patrick Murray, and Professor Tony Peacock, visited the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences at the Arabian Gulf University in the Arab Region to study the accreditation of its “Doctor of Medicine” academic program.

Dr. Al-Nuaimi briefed the accreditation committee on the role of the Arab Gulf University and King Abdullah Medical City, which embodies the strong brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He affirmed Bahrain’s support for the Arab Gulf University, which represents a model for educational cooperation for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, highlighting the efforts made to support the quality of its academic programs.

The minister also affirmed the support of the Higher Committee for Higher Education for higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
