Education Minister receive sickle cell activist

Manama, May 11 (BNA) Minister of Education Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi affirmed the ministry’s commitment to provide special care for 2,854 students suffering from sickle cell disease.


Al-Naimi said the ministry has committed to social supervisors to deal with students, and provide support to them during their exams and throughout their education, also received Ann Welch, sickle cell activist, and author of “Pain Less: Living With Pain,” and “The Search for Joy.”


In the book, she talks about the struggles and lessons she learned as a sickle cell patient, and offers advice that she hopes will help not only others in a similar situation, but their families and loved ones as well.
