Manama, April 2 (BNA): The Minister of Education, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Juma, inaugurated today the Fourth Book Fair, which is organized by the National Library, in the Hall of the Ministry of Education in Isa Town.
The ceremony was attended by the former Speaker of Parliament, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, the owner of the National Library, Farouk Ibrahim Obaid, and a number of officials and invitees.
The minister toured the exhibition booths, which displayed about 2,000 books in humanities, children’s literature, literature, religions, science and general culture.
He stressed the ministry’s commitment to building bridges with all institutions to spread knowledge and encourage reading, praising the role of the National Library since its founding by the late Ibrahim Muhammad Obaid in 1929.
The book fair, which opened today to the public, will run until Thursday (6 April) from 9 am to 12 pm and from 8 pm to 11 pm. Public and private schools will also organize daily visits to the book fair.
