Education Minister meets UNESCO-King Hamad ICT Prize Director

Manama, June 26 (BNA) Minister of Education Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi met with the UNESCO-King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technology in Education Administration Fengchun Miao.

The director said that more than 51 million people have benefited from these initiatives and 19 winners have been selected since 2006.

“This confirms the importance of this international award and its positive impact on the educational and humanitarian levels,” he said.

The meeting discussed the expected title of the award, in light of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The two parties reviewed the impact of the epidemic on the educational system and how to address the issue based on scientific standards and the development of students’ skills.

The meeting highlighted the new educational methods that can be implemented in the different educational stages and the role of online learning in continuing education.
