Manama, Nov. 24 (BNA): The Chairman of the Electricity and Water Authority, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed, and the CEO of the Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), Amin Al-Areed, signed a memorandum of understanding. (Memorandum of Understanding) to supply electricity and water to the Bilaj Al Jazayer development project.


The MoU was signed at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center on the sidelines of the launch of Cityscape 2022.


Commenting on the agreement, Kamal Ahmed said that under the agreement, two stations will be built to transmit electricity with a voltage of 66 kilovolts, adding that the two stations will be connected to the existing network.


He indicated that the project will be supplied with water through the main water transmission network.


He added that the Electricity and Water Authority will undertake the construction and operation of the two stations, noting that 92 MVA of electric power and 10,000 m3 of water will be provided daily.


He also said that the Electricity and Water Authority will complete the multi-stage work by 2030, as well as the operation and maintenance of electricity and water transmission and distribution networks within the project after its construction.


The head of the Edamah company thanked the head of the Electricity and Water Authority for his support for the development project of Bilaj Al Jazayer.
