London, October 25 (BNA) British pop star Ed Sheeran said today, Sunday, that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and will conduct interviews and presentations from his home while self-isolating.
Sheeran, 30, broke the news on social media days before the release of his new album, according to the Associated Press (AP).
“A quick note to tell you that unfortunately I tested positive for Covid, so I am now self-isolating and following government guidelines,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram. “This means that I am now unable to proceed with any personal commitments at the moment, so I will be doing many of the interviews/presentations that I am planning from my home. I apologize to anyone who has let me down.”
Sheeran was just announced as the musical guest on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” on November 6.
