Manama, Mar. 13 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani praised the launch of the electronic passport in accordance with the latest technical and security standards.
The minister said that it comes in addition to the development of digital government services led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. For innovation and digital transformation.
He expressed his appreciation to the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, for his support for the National Committee headed by the Assistant Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence and its representatives in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the Information and e-Government Authority.
Dr. Al-Zayani expressed his pride in completing the electronic passport in accordance with modern security and technical specifications that are compatible with the latest standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization of the United Nations.
He said that the addition will enhance the services provided to citizens in travel and transportation, facilitate opportunities for obtaining and exempting visas, and raise the classification of the Bahraini passport globally.
