Drone exhibition to offer glimpse into future of mobility

Busan, Feb. 23 (BNA): South Korea’s largest unmanned aerial vehicle exhibition will be held in the southeastern port city of Busan this week, showcasing the latest technologies and models and providing a forum on the future of the industry, according to organizers. Wednesday.


The Korea Drone Show 2022 will be held at BEXCO Exhibition Center from Thursday to Saturday under the theme “Connecting by Drone”.


The sixth edition of the annual event, jointly organized by the Korea Unmanned Vehicle System Association and BEXCO, will be the largest in its history with the participation of 138 companies and organizations, they said.


Korean Air will display a medium-altitude drone with a wingspan of 26 meters, and defense contractor LIG Nex1 will display a hydrogen-fueled heavy transport drone capable of carrying a payload of up to 200 kg, according to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency.


Korea Aircraft Industries, Inc. will introduce next-generation mobility technologies, including unmanned teamwork systems and metaverse solutions. The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology will display a platform for self-driving drones.


The Army will showcase an “unmanned” combat system for integrated multi-area operations.


Drone Show Korea will also present a conference on Thursday and Friday on various issues related to drones, including new mobility technologies and platforms, regulations, safety, industry strategies and military applications.


44 experts from South Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark and Japan will participate in the sessions.


On the sidelines of the trade fair, visitors will be presented with several events, including a drone delivery experience program, a drone art show and drone games.

The Korea Drone Show is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technology, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of National Defense and the metropolitan city of Busan.
