This employer is a reputable semi-governmental real estate development company based in Doha. Their portfolio of projects is impressive, and includes high-level, luxury, mixed-use community developments.

The successful candidate will lead the risk management function, protecting the financial and investment risks of the company. They will oversee the development and implementation of enterprise risk management, project risk management, insurance management and corporate compliance strategies and programmes.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Lead the development and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, tools, practices and policies
• Manage key risk assessment, scenario analysis and impact (eg value at risk)
• Lead the monitoring and analysis of risks within the company’s business units
• Ensures that risk management policies and strategies are consistent with applicable regulations, industry best practices and the organization’s strategic imperatives
• Oversee the development and implementation of the insurance strategy and program
• Develop and lead the implementation of risk management strategy in all projects in local and international offices
• Identify and assess the impact of potential risks on all projects
• Strengthening the process of strategic asset allocation and the tools needed to plan the company’s business in order to reduce risks
• Oversee the development and implementation of corporate compliance policies and procedures (ie Corporate Compliance Framework, AML & CTF, KYC).

The ideal candidate has the following skills, experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or Economics
• MBA/MBA preferred
• Significant experience in risk management, including 10+ years in a leadership role in a real estate company or management consulting firm
• Experience in interacting with and providing guidance to senior executives at an individual level on substantive issues
• Deep experience in risk management
• A proven track record of leading teams and projects, particularly in cases where the direct support of direct management authority is lacking
