Dinwiddie has 25 in Brooklyn return, Nets beat Bulls 116-105

WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 (BNA): Spencer Dinwiddie scored 25 points in his first game since returning to Brooklyn as the Nets beat the Chicago Bulls 116-105 Thursday night, hours after superstar Kevin Durant was traded to Phoenix.

Joe Harris scored 18 points, and Yuta Watanabe pulled in 14 in 22 minutes off the bench, reports the Associated Press.

Dorian Finney Smith, who came with Dinwiddie from Dallas in a trade for Kyrie Irving, scored nine points and nine rebounds in his debut with the Nets.

“We just found a way,” said Nets coach Jack Vaughn. “Don’t panic our guys. I thought we did a really good job focusing on the game plan. It’s great to see us really locked in, especially towards the end of the game.”

This was the first game for the Dinwidian Nets since December 27, 2020. He spent five seasons with the team and came back with 18 points in the second half.

“The whole last four or five days have been strange to me,” Dinwiddie said. “If I were to go back somewhere, out of the three places I’ve been, it would definitely be here, unequivocally.”
