DeRozan scores 50, Bulls rally past Clippers 135-130 in OT

Washington, April 1 (BUS): DeMar DeRozan has done everything in his power to take the Chicago Bulls to a much-needed victory, The Associated Press reports.

The only glitch came in the last seconds of regulation. That’s when he missed a potential green light throw after making his first two equalisers.

In the end, it didn’t matter much.

DeRozan scored a season-high 50 points, and Chicago recovered to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 135-130 in overtime Thursday night.

DeRozan finished two points shy of his career high. The All-Star Five scored 17 goals in the fourth quarter and made up for his missed shot by scoring another 10 goals in overtime.

“It felt like a bomb had gone off in my head,” he said. “Just frustrated with myself.”

DeRozan ignored a missed free throw and helped the Bulls out with the win after they trailed by 16 in the third inning.

Chicago, which led the Eastern Conference for much of the season, led half a game ahead of sixth-placed Toronto and five remaining.

The Bulls try to stay in the top six to avoid the post-season play round.
