Deputy Prime Minister sponsors Housing Ministry meeting

Manama, March 29 (BNA) Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa sponsored a meeting with the Minister of Housing, Basem bin Yaqoub Al Hamer.

The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Housing and the Housing Bank with real estate development companies and banks to introduce the projects of the Government Land Rights Development Program.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attaches great importance to activating the role of the private sector as a major partner in providing social housing projects for citizens with limited income. This led to the provision of thousands of housing units to citizens during the past few years.

He explained that “the technical and financial capabilities of real estate development companies qualify them for a greater role during the next stage in terms of increasing the supply of housing projects provided by the ministry to citizens.”

Sheikh Khalid said that the government supports all innovative initiatives and solutions that contribute to providing immediate services to citizens, and praised the efforts of companies in many projects in Deira Al-Oyoun, Salman City, Al-Lawzi and the Mazaya Program in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 with regard to the housing sector.
