Manama, Feb. 2 (BNA): Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the German Bundestag, Armin Laschet, praised Bahrain’s initiatives to promote peace, tolerance and coexistence. He said that Bahrain has set a role model for the whole world.
Laschet was speaking during a meeting with Betsy Mathieson, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence.
Matheson praised the Abrahamic Institution in Germany for welcoming the inclusion of the Bahrain Declaration in academic curricula, as one of the most important documents aimed at promoting peace, religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
Armin Laschet praised the efforts of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence in promoting noble human values, stressing the importance of the Abraham Accords signed in 2020 in promoting peace in the region.
In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency, Laschet said that the Bahrain Declaration came as a document confirming the Kingdom’s commitment to religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He pointed out, “Today, we see how these values are reflected in a society in which a sense of responsibility towards the other is growing, and how everyone joins hands to create an unparalleled social fabric.”
Laschet expressed his honor by attending the inauguration ceremony of the Bahrain Declaration, which was held recently in the Italian capital, Rome. He stressed its importance as a document that carries noble messages and values that must be disseminated throughout the world. He pointed out that the noble messages included in the declaration confirm the correct approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
