De Gea in great form as Man United beats West Ham 1-0

London, October 30 (BNA) Marcus Rashford scored his 100th goal for Manchester United but required heroics from David de Gea to score a 1-0 win over West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday.

The win leads United to fifth in the league after Eric ten Hag’s side were pushed to the limit by visitors, according to the Associated Press.

Rashford’s 38th-minute header saw him reach a personal milestone, becoming the first United player to reach a century of goals since historic scorer Wayne Rooney.

But this proved to be the day the team was most reliant on De Gea, who made three superb saves in the second half to resist West Ham’s attack.

Ten Hag may look at the opportunities his players failed to exploit, as both Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo are accused of missing opportunities in either half.

But that is not lost on De Gea’s performance in a week when reports in Spain claimed he was set to be left out of his country’s World Cup squad.
