Manama, Jan. 30 (BNA): Members of Bahraini Rotary Clubs, including the Manama Rotary and the Adliya Rotary, visited the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gems (Danat).

The visit comes within the framework of the Institute’s efforts to enhance community support for its national strategy to revive the pearl sector and inform the public about its services and programs.

Noura Jamsheer, CEO of the Institute, gave a presentation to the visiting group on the qualitative developments that Danat has achieved in its work and services, including jewelry testing services, international partnerships, and training initiatives.

She said, “The institute, which was established in 2017, is always working to establish more fruitful alliances with its counterparts in the region and around the world and to maintain the highest professional standards, scientific knowledge and industry standards.”

“The institute enhances confidence in the pearl trade in Bahrain and around the world.”

The visitors toured Danat Laboratory, the most prestigious laboratory of its kind in the world, and learned about the processes of testing and documenting pearls and precious jewelry using the latest technology.

They were also introduced to the institute’s educational and training courses, as well as the largest display library of its kind in the region, where they saw exquisite specimens of pearls and precious stones.

Danat Chairman: “Bahrain has a long and rich history of precious stones and jewelry as a historical center for the pearl trade. We are keen to enhance Danat’s achievements in effectively influencing economic diversification, growth and development in line with Bahrain’s Vision 2030,” said Amal Al-Kooheji of the Rotary Club of Adliya.

The visitors praised Danat and its global laboratory and confirmed their confidence in its ability to implement its basic goals, especially under the leadership of a group of Bahrainis.
