DANAT participates in International Valuation Conference

Riyadh, November 2 (BNA) Danat participated in the 12th International Assessment Conference (IVC) hosted by the Saudi Authority for Accredited Valuers (Taqeem) in Riyadh and hosted for the first time in the Middle East.

Danat’s presence is due to its unique competence as a training and accreditation institute for pearls and gemstones.

Nora Jamsheer, CEO of the Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones, said the unique natural pearls – found only in the seas around Bahrain – are driving a lucrative international market for their sale.

Bahrain pearls are very distinctive and there is a wide market potential for them regionally and internationally such as Saudi Arabia and others.

Jamsheer highlighted the important role that the Danat Institute plays in providing collectors and traders of Bahraini natural pearls with certificates of examination that certify the source of the stones, facilitating honest and reliable global trade.

She confirmed Danat’s desire to attend this biennial conference on a regular basis which builds synergies between appraisers, regulators, academics and practitioners.

The conference discussed the latest trends in the sector, and the forum led to knowledge sharing among international appraisers.

She emphasized Danat’s ability to showcase Bahrain’s experience in the field of pearl, jewelry and precious stones examination.

The Institute aims to share its best practices and work with similar organizations to develop a greater understanding of evaluation standards and methodologies.

Danat’s CEO highlighted Bahrain’s rich pearling history and multi-generational experience in pearl testing and appraisal.
