DANAT organizes training course for 15 young Bahrainis from MKF

Manama, Feb. 19 (BNA): Fifteen students from the Rayaat Program of the Al-Mabarrah Al-Khalifia Foundation attended a pearl basics course at the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gems (Danat).

The institute included practical and theoretical programs in every aspect of pearl extraction, examination and history. The course included a practical component on basic scientific tools such as X-ray microscopy, computed tomography, etc., presented by Danat Laboratory, the premier pearl testing laboratory in the world.

Within the framework of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, the course is in line with the institute’s mission to develop the Bahraini pearl sector, and the national plan to revive the pearl industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to enhance the kingdom’s reputation as a major center of expertise in the field of pearls and precious stones.

“The institute offers this course as part of its qualitative training and development initiatives in Bahrain and the Middle East, as well as as part of its efforts to train, qualify and develop more cadres in this vital field so that economic and social development can be achieved,” said Noura Jamsheer, CEO of Danat.

She stressed that the involvement of young people in the activities and events of the Institute and the various training programs that it organizes on a regular basis contributed to a quantum leap in the field of investment and employment among Bahraini youth.

She added, “Learning a skill in an unconventional industry such as pearls and precious stones is the wise step that Bahraini youth must take, because professional overcrowding and technological growth pressure them to discover creative ways to earn a living.”
