DANAT hosts professors from UoB

Manama, April 5 (BNA) Noura Jamsheer, CEO of the Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones “Danat”, received the professors of the College of Science at the University of Bahrain, headed by the Dean of the College, Prof. Muhammad Al-Helou.


They discussed enhancing cooperation in many fields, including raising the students’ awareness of the College of Science’s efforts and achievements in the field of pearls and precious stones, in addition to conducting and publishing research on topics of common interest.


Jamsheer stressed that investing in the national capabilities of young Bahraini cadres is an integral part of the national plan to revive the pearl sector in Bahrain and intensify the Kingdom’s leading position in the world in the fields of pearl extraction, pearl trade and examination, expressing his pride. Among the highly qualified Bahraini cadres of the institute in this field.


The delegation toured the institute and reviewed the services provided by its laboratory for evaluating pearls and precious stones.


The CEO of DANAT briefed the visiting team on the Institute’s efforts in developing and consolidating Bahrain’s image as a leading center in the field of pearls and precious stones at the regional and global levels.


And presented the efforts of “Danat” in conducting scientific field research.


Jamsheer discussed the possibility of establishing a permanent cooperation program between “Danat” and the University of Bahrain with the aim of qualifying students, training them and encouraging them to practice jobs in this important field, as well as integrating them into the institute’s activities such as programs, courses, and workshops.

Prof. El-Helou praised the Institute’s efforts in preserving pearls and precious stones, stressing the desire of the College of Science to organize more such educational visits in the future.
