Cristiano Ronaldo happy again with Portugal’s national team

Lisbon, March 27 (BNA): Cristiano Ronaldo is home again. It only took two games for him to make his peace with the Portuguese national team and show that he hasn’t finished impressing at international level yet.

In his comeback after a disappointing World Cup, the 38-year-old Ronaldo scored four goals in Portugal’s first two Euro 2024 qualifying matches, showing he’s still the captain fans are used to seeing in the country’s red and green kit.

Ronaldo scored twice in a 6-0 win over Luxembourg on Sunday, three days after netting another brace in a 4-0 win over Liechtenstein, when he became the most capped men’s player with 197 appearances.

The goals came against European players, but it seemed enough to restore Ronaldo’s confidence and his role as a key player with the national team.

Ronaldo was crying the last time he left the field with Portugal after losing to Morocco in the World Cup quarter-finals last year after being placed on the bench by coach Fernando Santos in the knockout stage.
