COVID-19 cases cross 510.98 million worldwide

New York, May 1 (BUS): The total number of people infected with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) worldwide has exceeded 510.98 million, while 6,335,096 people have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in December 2019 in China.

The United States is at the forefront of the country in terms of the number of infections and deaths, with 8,1357,500 infections and 998,695 deaths, followed by India and Brazil.

In the Arab region, Iraq recorded the highest toll of COVID-19, with 2,324,982 cases of infection and 25,211 deaths.
