Clinic to deliver integrated health services for inmates opened

Manama, September 18 (BNA) The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant-General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, inaugurated today, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Al Sayed Jawad. A medical clinic that provides health care services to inmates of correctional and rehabilitation centers.


This step comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s continuous efforts to provide the best health care and treatment services to the inmates of correctional and rehabilitation facilities.


The medical clinic of government hospitals provides integrated, high-quality health services around the clock to ensure their health and safety, in accordance with the Law of the Correction and Rehabilitation Institution and its executive regulations.


In this regard, government hospitals pledged to provide the best health services to beneficiaries, in accordance with international standards.


In his comment, the CEO of the Governmental Hospital, Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Al-Ansari, praised the services provided by the Ministry of Interior to inmates, noting that the new clinic will provide health service in all medical specialties, in cooperation with primary health care centers, in addition to mental health services.


During the opening ceremony, the delegation toured the clinic’s facilities and discussed the procedures for transferring health and treatment services to the clinic for inmates and deportees.


The opening of a clinic for inmates comes in line with the visions and policies aimed at unifying the joint efforts and endeavors between the Supreme Council of Health, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, government hospitals and primary health care centers to achieve the desired goal. Objectives and to preserve national gains by providing all means of high quality health care.
