Climate Special Envoy participates in MEFED conference

Manama, June 9 (BNA) The Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and CEO of the Supreme Council for the Environment, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Dina, participated in the “MEFED” conference on “Future Energy Dialogue for the Middle East and North Africa”.

The participation came on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the personal representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Environment.

The meeting was hosted under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan, with the aim of enhancing cooperation between countries in the field of sustainable energy.


The Special Envoy explained that the conference represents the best aspects of cooperation to face challenges in preserving the environment and climate change and achieving sustainable development goals.
Dr. Bin Dana praised the prominent Jordanian role in promoting rapprochement and cooperation between the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, especially in light of the environmental and climatic challenges facing the world, which require international solidarity for a future that enjoys a healthy and sustainable environment.


He stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance cooperation with Jordan and the participating countries to preserve the environment and achieve sustainable development.




He attended the signing ceremony of the declaration issued by the participating countries, which included raising climate protection ambitions in the Middle East and North Africa, road maps for regional and continental linkage of energy markets, and agreement on specific bilateral and multilateral cooperation projects towards the transition to clean energy. .
