China launches Earth observation satellite Gaofen-13 02

Beijing, March 18 (BNA): China has successfully launched a new Earth observation satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province.


The Gaofen-13 02 satellite was launched on a Long March-3B carrier rocket and successfully entered its planned orbit.


The satellite will be mainly used for ground surveys, crop yield estimation, environmental governance, early warning and meteorological forecasting, as well as comprehensive disaster prevention and mitigation. This is the 468th mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
