Manama, February 22 (BNA): The total number of workers in the financial sector increased in 2022 to 14,124 employees, compared to 13,697 employees by the end of 2021, an increase of 427 jobs, according to the annual survey conducted by the Central Bank. the two seas. The number of workers in the banking sector reached 7,080 employees by the end of 2022, compared to 6,865 employees by the end of 2021, an increase of 215 employees.

Employment in the non-banking financial sector (which includes insurance companies, cashiers, finance companies, investment business firms, and other non-banking financial institutions) increased by 214 jobs, bringing the number to 6,563 employees at the end of 2022 compared to 6,349 employees employed at the end of 2022. 2021.

The survey revealed that the Bahraini workforce employed in the financial services sector reached 9,708 in 2022, with an increase of 306 jobs.

The total number of Bahraini women in the financial sector increased by 81 jobs, with a total of 3,821 jobs at the end of 2022, compared to 3,740 jobs at the end of 2021. The percentage of Bahraini women holding administrative positions reached 34.2% of the total administrative positions occupied by the Bahraini workforce in the financial sector, compared to 33.5% registered at the end of 2021.

The number of Bahrainis (men and women) holding senior management positions (including CEOs, executive directors, directors and assistant managers) was 3,551 at the end of 2022. The number of Bahrainis holding supervisory positions (including supervisors, heads of units, heads of departments) was 2 157 in the same year.

The number of Bahraini members of the Board of Directors of financial institutions reached 442 by the end of 2022 (48.7% of the total), of whom 379 are Bahrainis and 63 are Bahrainis.
