Capital Governorate organises clean-up campaign

Manama, October 17 (BNA) The Capital Governorate organized a clean-up campaign in the Seef area on the occasion of International Cities Day under the title “Work locally to go global.”

About 450 volunteers who signed the “Capital Governorate Document for Voluntary Work” participated in the event, which was held on the coasts of Seef District.

In his comment, Director of Media and Follow-up, Youssef Yaqoub Lauri, affirmed the Capital Governorate’s keenness to benefit from the global event to deliver its message about the importance of preserving the environment and community health, in line with the “Healthy City of Manama”. The program adopted by the governorate in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization and the “Green Capital” project in order to promote the health of the individual, as well as community awareness of the environment and the need to preserve it.

He pointed out that the Capital Governorate supports projects aimed at increasing public awareness of marine life issues in the Kingdom in general and Manama in particular in order to achieve the goals of instilling a culture of volunteerism and promoting social responsibility among members of society. the society.
