Canada PM tests positive for COVID, rips anti vaccine demo

Toronto Jan. 31 (BUS): Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday announced he has tested positive for COVID-19 but is “feeling well” and will continue to work remotely from home, according to the Associated Press.

Trudeau said two of his children have COVID-19, and a test on Monday revealed he also had the infection. He used a virtual televised press conference to denounce the anti-vaccine protesters who have filled the Canadian capital to complain about COVID restrictions.

Some have protested the rule that went into effect on January 15 requiring truck drivers entering Canada to be fully immunized against the coronavirus.

The US imposed the same requirement on truck drivers entering that country, so removing it from Canada would make little difference.
