As a Buyer, you will be responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager in the daily operations of the Purchasing Department and ensuring that all hotel departments have adequate supplies to perform their duties in an efficient manner.

What will you do:

Maintain good relationship with all departments.
Work closely with the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Manager to procure high quality products while constantly looking for the lowest price.
– Work closely with stores.
Assist in supervising the day-to-day functions of the Receiving Clerk.
Ensure that all purchase order requisitions are properly completed and approved before purchasing items.
Ensure that all items received by the hotel are properly documented as per the company’s purchasing and receiving procedures.
-Negotiating food prices, placing required daily food orders and ensuring prompt delivery.
Place orders for alcoholic beverages, beer, wine and soft drinks as requested.
Create purchase orders based on approval requests and obtain the necessary authorization and obtain authorization from the Finance Director and General Manager before processing these requests.
Obtaining competitive quotations and confirmation of purchase availability.
Assisting accounts payable in finding any discrepancies in invoices.
Obtaining competitive quarterly quotations for food and beverage items.
– Place and save all purchase orders.
– Dealing with telephone inquiries.
Maintain disclaimers, credit requests, and seller information.
Maintaining HACCP standards at all levels – from product sourcing to warehousing etc.
Conduct surprise audits in receiving and warehousing areas to ensure that HACCP standards are maintained by staff.
Preparing any reports as requested by management
To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the management from time to time.

Your experience and skills include:

You must be willing to work on a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of the local market is an asset
– Good verbal and written communication skills in English
– Ability to process information and goods through a computer system
– Ability to move and handle goods throughout the hotel

Your experience and skills include:

– University diploma or equivalent qualification
– A valid driving license in the United Arab Emirates
Knowledge of material control
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, mainly EXCEL.
Minimum 2 – 3 years experience in a Purchasing / Warehouse environment

Your team and work environment:

– The pre-opening project consists of 3 famous brands from ACCOR – Adagio, Novotel and Mövenpick with a total of 885 rooms, located in the Jumeirah Village Triangle on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) opposite City Center Me’aisem.
