Manama, Jan. 2 (BNA): The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), in cooperation with Common Ground International, announced that the Russian Imperial Ballet (IRB) will arrive in Bahrain from March 2-4, 2023. The performances will take place in the Great Hall. At the Bahrain International Exhibition in Sakhir.
Common Ground International, in partnership with the American non-profit Foundation for Arts and Science Achievements, and with the support of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority office, has begun implementing a large-scale international cultural project – “Common Ground” in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
This project, which begins with performances by the Imperial Russian Ballet, will be the first of many projects planned in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC region in 2023.
The IRB has nearly 300 performers, including 120 members of the State Symphony Orchestra and a full production team. Musical repertoires will consist of world classical orchestral masterpieces, including Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” and “The Sleeping Beauty”.
Dr. Nasser Qaidi, CEO of BTEA, said: “We are proud to host the Russian Imperial Ballet for the first time ever in the GCC. The presence of such a prominent troupe of creative artists in the Kingdom proves that Bahrain has become a beacon for international troupes and performers, It hosts the best musicians and creators of the fine arts.”
He added that this indicates Bahrain’s readiness to attract more large-scale international events, stressing the commitment of the Bahrain Tourism and National Heritage Authority to continue attracting the best entertainment and artistic shows from all over the world, to work towards achieving Bahrain’s strategic tourism goals.
Common Ground Co-Founder and Project Coordinator Dr. Anna Artsypacheva commended the Bahrain Tourism Authority’s efforts and logistical support in facilitating travel for IRB members to Bahrain and the state-of-the-art facilities and high-tech amenities at the Bahrain International Showcase Show.
