BTEA, Emirates sign MoU

Dubai, May 4 (BNA): The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and Emirates Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding on the last day of the Arabian Travel Market.

The memorandum of understanding, which aims to increase tourism traffic in Bahrain, was signed by Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Serafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tourism Authority, and Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airlines.

BTEA and Emirates will explore a range of joint marketing efforts that include promotion, tourism campaigns and tour operators, among other activities.

The minister said that this partnership demonstrates the commitment of the two countries to promoting tourism and contributing to the economic development of the region.

Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates Airlines, affirmed his pride in serving the Bahrain market for more than 23 years, and wishes to strengthen cooperation in this sector.

He added, “We are delighted to be working with the Bahrain Tourism Authority. With our strong presence in Bahrain and our global network that extends to more than 140 passenger destinations, we are well positioned to support the further development of the tourism sector in the Kingdom.”

The partnership aims to increase Bahrain’s attractiveness in key markets such as Japan, Korea, Spain, Hungary and Poland, as well as grow ideas sharing between travelers from Israel and the UAE.

Emirates will support Bahrain’s new tourism strategy (2022-2026), which aims to attract 14.1 million tourists by 2026.

Approximately 9.9 million tourists visited Bahrain in 2022, with further growth expected this year.
