Brad Pitt makes debut in Finland as sculpture artist

Finland, Sept. 21 (BUS): Hollywood star Brad Pitt has visited the northernmost country in the European Union to display his sculptures for the first time.

According to the Sara Hildén Museum of Art in the Finnish city of Tampere, Pitt’s work is on display as part of an exhibition by visual artist Thomas Houseago, along with ceramic figurines of Australian musician Nick Cave.

The museum said that while Pete and How are already well known in the film and music industries, respectively, this is the first time either of them have shown their artwork.

The German news agency (dpa) reported that the pieces were created in the course of an ongoing dialogue with Husiego.

The exhibition “Thomas Houseago – WE with Nick Cave & Brad Pitt” was unveiled on Sunday and will remain open to visitors until mid-January 2023 in the city 150 kilometers north of Helsinki.

Pitt told Finnish radio station Yle on Saturday that for him the exhibition is “about self-reflection”.

“It’s about where I go wrong in my relationships, where I go wrong, and I am complicit,” the actor said.

Pitt said his artwork is based on a “radical self-introspection” where he has been “really brutally honest” with himself and taking responsibility for his mischievous actions.

Pitt has reportedly tried his hand at clay sculpting after his divorce from actress Angelina Jolie. He was spending up to 15 hours a day at the Houseago studio in Los Angeles in 2017, according to The Guardian.
