BIC set for packed weekend with Batelco Fitness on Track, Orange Media Open Track

Manama, Dec. 21 (BNA): The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is preparing to host back-to-back days of track activities this weekend for fitness buffs and car enthusiasts to enjoy.


The Batelco Fitness on Track Championship takes place on Friday (Editor’s note: December 23rd) at “the home of motorsports in the Middle East,” while the circuit will kick off on Saturday (December 24th) at the Orange Media Open Track.


Batelco Fitness on Track will be taking place from 6am-10am on Friday, so members of the public can get an early start this Christmas weekend and enjoy working out with family and friends.


The activity can be done either on foot or by bicycle within the unique environment of a world-class motorsports facility.


As with all Batelco Fitness on Track, the turnout is huge with individuals and groups of all ages participating. Those interested in participating are therefore advised to book online in advance at the official BIC website bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC hotline at +973-17450000.


Everyone who registers must pay at the time of booking. The cost of participation is 2 BHD for cyclists and 1 BHD for runners. Children under the age of 12 can participate for free if accompanied by a paying adult.


Meanwhile, the Orange Media Open Track will take place on Saturdays between 12pm and 7pm.


Participants will be able to explore the limits of their car or motorcycle in a safe, controlled and non-competitive environment, while enjoying the transition from morning to night conditions.

The action will take place along the 5.412km Grand Prix circuit at the Bahrain International Circuit, the same as the annual Gulf Air Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix.


Those interested in participating can book in advance for 82,500 BD for a full day experience, 55 BD for a half day and 22 BD for a single session. On the same day, the full day price is 93,500 BD, the half day costs 66 BD, and one session is 27,500 BD.


There are extras available for all participants in the venue.


At every Orange Media Open Track event, driver etiquette is of the utmost importance, so no close or aggressive overtaking is permitted. Overtaking is by invitation only between corners and driving is monitored, with poor or dangerous driving dealt with quickly by officials.
