BIC lines up fantastic programme of events and activities to mark Kingdom’s National Day

Manama, Dec. 15 (BNA): Bahrain International Circuit, “the home of motorsports in the Middle East”, organized a wonderful series of events and activities this weekend on the occasion of Bahrain’s National Day and the 23rd day. Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa assuming the throne.


It will be headlined by a spectacular fireworks display in the Kingdom to mark the occasion, which will take place on Friday evening (December 16) in Sakhir.


The show is scheduled to begin at 7 pm, and the Bahrain Information Center invites everyone to come and take part in the exciting atmosphere and colorful festivities.


National Day fireworks are traditionally held at the Bahrain International Center every year, and they attract huge crowds of families of all nationalities who not only flock to the circuit, but also to the surrounding areas where they can enjoy various points of the amazing show.


Aside from the fireworks, BIC will also host a Batelco Fitness on Track activity early Friday morning, a motorcycle parade, and BIC’s widely popular Track Experience on Saturday (December 17), all to celebrate the special occasion.


Batelco Fitness on Track will be running from 6am-10am on Friday, so members of the public can get an early start on the long weekend and enjoy working out with family and friends.


The action can be enjoyed either on foot or by bicycle within the unique environment of a world-class motorsports facility.


It will be the second Batelco Fitness tournament on the track this week, with the Bahrain International Center hosting the activity on Tuesday night. As in every edition, the turnout was huge, with individuals and groups of all ages taking part as they look to keep physically active. Everyone who registers must pay at the time of booking. The cost of participation is 2 BHD for cyclists and 1 BHD for runners. Children under the age of 12 can participate for free if accompanied by a paying adult.


A motorcycle parade organized by the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission will follow from 10am at the Bahrain International Motorcycle Centre. The event will have more than 300 cyclists from Bahrain and the GCC who will gather to celebrate this special occasion.


Meanwhile, Saturday’s Track Experience will feature extreme action on both the BNI Clio Cup Experience and SR3 and SR1 Radicals.


The BNI Clio Cup Experience includes both driving and passengers in a Renault Clio Cup, equipped with a 220bhp engine, sequential gearbox and high performance brakes. The activity gives participants their first foray into the world of motorsport in a high-octane, turbo-charged sports car that will undoubtedly make the heart race.


Those who take part in this activity will be given a user-friendly and simple brief followed by the experience of driving on the track with a professional in the manner of following the driving, while riding the passenger is the best co-pilot experience.


The drive in BNI Clio Cup Experience can be purchased for 121 BD, while the passenger ride costs 27,500 BD per person.


Meanwhile, the Radical SR1 can be enjoyed in the SR1 sedan that features an engine that can generate 185 horsepower. It goes from zero to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 222 km/h. This drivetrain costs BD 132. Completion of the BNI Clio Cup drive is a prerequisite for participation in the SR1 Experience.
