BIBF’s University Partner ranked highest in UK Banking Research Universities

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) announced that its partner University Bangor University has been ranked first among all UK universities for research in the banking field, according to the latest research paper rankings. In Economics (RePEc), the world’s leading repository of relevant economic research.

“This rating is a great endorsement of the hard work and success of our faculty. Bangor University has a long history of academic excellence in banking and finance, having been the first UK university to offer an undergraduate degree in Banking and Finance, in 1969,” said Bangor College President for Business at Bangor University, UK, Bruce Vanstone.

“The world of banking has changed beyond recognition since then, as a result of technology, globalization, and many crises. However, our RePEc rating shows that we remain at the forefront of global research in this critical discipline.”

The Director of the BIBF, Dr. Ahmed Al Sheikh, expressed his warmest congratulations to the Bangor University team for this distinguished honor, and said that it enhances the university’s international reputation in the field of research especially in the fields of accounting, banking and finance.

He added, “As the training arm of the Central Bank of Bahrain, we are proud to offer Bangor University programs in Bahrain for over 20 years to develop world-class human capital in banking and finance.”
