Under the terms of the MoU, the two parties will collaborate to design and deliver specialized training programmes. By leveraging BIBF’s extensive experience of more than four decades in diverse business disciplines including banking, finance, financial technology, and digital transformation, these programs will meet the specific needs of the General Authority for Statistics.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Riyadh, with Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, CEO of the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, and Mr. Mohammed Al Rasheed, Vice President of the General Authority for Statistics, representing their institutions. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Fahd Al-Dosari, President of the General Authority for Statistics, and a number of executive members of the Institute.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sheikh expressed his appreciation for this agreement with the General Authority for Statistics, stressing its importance in strengthening bilateral relations between Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also highlighted the opportunity to establish a long-term partnership with the General Authority for Statistics, benefiting from the extensive experience of the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies in training and development.
This cooperation represents a pivotal milestone for both parties, as it facilitates increased cooperation and the development of specialized training programs designed to meet the requirements of the General Authority for Statistics. These initiatives will contribute significantly to the digital transformation goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He stressed that this partnership will provide a framework for comprehensive training programs for the authority’s employees, enhance their capabilities and effectively meet the institute’s training needs.
It is worth noting that the General Authority for Statistics acts as the sole official statistical reference for data and information in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The basic products of the organization include statistical censuses such as the general census of population, housing, and establishments, as well as the results of field surveys, periodic statistical publications, and indicators covering various fields such as economy, society, health, education, agriculture, labor force, and indicators.
