BIBF, CII strengthen collaboration to develop insurance professionals

Manama, Mar. 12 (BNA): The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) received a delegation from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), headed by CEO Alain Vallance.

The meeting discussed providing more professional certificates and training opportunities for professionals in the fields of insurance and financial planning.

The delegation learned about the main initiatives and professional programs offered at the BIBF Institute and toured the Institute’s modern facilities, including smart classrooms, the main hall, the library, and high-tech computer laboratories, expressing their admiration for the advanced level and support of the BIBF Institute for students and learners.

CII and the BIBF discussed ways to develop their relationship and support CII’s future strategies in the region, with a special focus on providing more valuable support to CII members in the region to help them develop their careers.

Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance organized formal meetings with CEOs and CEOs of insurance companies to gather market views and emphasize the importance of employers in supporting the profession.

Representatives of the Chartered Insurance Institute met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, to discuss the Kingdom’s efforts in developing the insurance sector, highlighting the importance of the sector and its role in Bahrain’s economy.

Vallance gave a master class, discussing CII’s recently announced Professional Map, a competency framework for insurance and personal finance professionals to advance their careers.

The session was attended by members of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and insurance professionals, who gained valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the insurance industry.

The Director of the BIBF Institute, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hamid Al-Sheikh, affirmed his keenness to strengthen relations with various prestigious international academic and professional institutions, such as the CII Institute.

He affirmed commitment to developing Bahrainis in various fields of insurance, through the accredited qualifications it offers, as one of the most important training centers in this field, in addition to the programs it offers in various financial and banking sectors, technology and digital transformation. .

Dr. Al-Sheikh added that the CII Institute is one of the oldest international institutions and the largest accredited body for preparing programs and examinations in the field of insurance and financial planning, and graduates of insurance programs at the BIBF Institute can obtain exemption from internationally recognized insurance certificates by the Chartered Insurance Institute.

He also indicated the keenness to continue cooperation and provide more academic and professional educational and training opportunities for students and employees in various insurance fields, which contributes to raising the level of national cadres working in this field, and providing them with everything necessary. Skills and experience to always be the first choice in the labor market.

“The Chartered Insurance Institute and Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance share a common goal, which is to build public confidence in the insurance and financial planning profession, wherever consumers live,” said Vallance.

He continued, “Our effectiveness in achieving this goal is enhanced by the strong relationship that binds our organization over many years and our plans for more cooperation in the future.”

The BIBF has obtained the renewal of CII’s accreditation for professional insurance certifications, offering 13 different CII-accredited units in both Arabic and English, ranging from introductory courses to specialized technical units in insurance.
