BENEFIT joins Forever Green campaign

Manama, February 1 (BNA): The BENEFIT Company, a leading financial technology services company, has joined the Forever Green campaign launched by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) to expand green spaces, enhance landscapes, and help combat climate change.

The campaign on the Bahraini Youth Street saw the planting of 42 seedlings of roll trees known for their rapid growth and tolerance of harsh conditions, 32 seedlings of flowering Tecoma bushes, and 400 seedlings of bougainvillea bushes, to contribute to the purification of the air and add freshness. The agriculture ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of NIAD, Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, CEO of The Benefit Company, Abdul Wahed Al Janahi, senior officials of the company and people interested in developing agriculture in Bahrain.

BENEFIT’s contribution was welcomed as a new testament to the growing partnership between the public and private sectors to support government plans to reduce carbon emissions and achieve environmental sustainability.

Al Janahi said, “We at BENEFIT are proud to support Nyad and his endeavors to expand green spaces in Bahrain, and this support reflects our patriotism and strong sense of social commitment.”

“These opportunities provide an incentive for us to create a positive environmental footprint and contribute to protection from air pollution and reduction of carbon emissions in order to achieve the Kingdom’s goal of reaching net carbon emissions by 2060.”
