BD2.7m in procurement requests discussed at Governance Committee Meeting

Manama, March 8 (BNA): Purchase requests by government agencies were discussed in the 60th meeting of the ICT Governance Committee by videoconference, chaired by Mr. Muhammad Ali Al Qaed, CEO of the Information and eGovernment Authority.


The committee covered a range of topics and purchase requests submitted by government agencies, including a project by the Ministry of Education to provide a number of government schools with the technical equipment necessary for the educational process in those schools, as well as to facilitate work. In addition to a project to supply laptops that support digital applications specialized in developing students’ skills in order to achieve the ministry’s aspirations through the project of His Majesty King Hamad’s Schools for the Future and digital empowerment in education in Bahrain. .


The committee also discussed the progress made in the project to develop the open data portal at the Information and eGovernment Authority, which aims to provide a platform that enables individuals, companies and institutions to access all open government data from one place to benefit from in their decisions. to prepare .


The committee concluded its discussions with a set of projects and purchase requests related to improving government systems and information technology services, enhancing the level of infrastructure security, in addition to ensuring business continuity in government agencies.


The committee reviewed the implementation of the decisions of the previous meetings, and followed up on its progress.


The meeting was chaired by Mr. Muhammad Ali Al-Qaed, CEO of the Information and e-Government Authority, and the meeting was attended by the Vice-Chairman of the Committee and the Executive Vice-President of e-transformation at the Information and e-Government Authority, Dr. Zakaria Ahmed Al-Khaja. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Policies, Strategies and Performance, Nawal Al-Khater. Ministry of Finance and National Economy Director of Financial Systems Development, University of Bahrain Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, and IT Project Management Consultant Dr. Ali Al-Soufi.
