Munich, April 3 (BNA): Mistakes confused Bayern Munich’s substitutes and witnessed the champion playing with 12 players late in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Freiburg, back to a wrong number displayed on the board which is Bayern Munich. Coach Julian Nagelsmann said.
The incident came in the 86th minute when Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman were due to be sacked in favor of Marcel Sabitzer and Niklas Sule, Reuters reported.
But the fourth official showed Koeman a wrong number and played the French winger for a few seconds, according to champion and referee Christian Dingert.
“The fourth official showed the wrong number,” Nagelsmann told a news conference. “King [Coman] He didn’t know that it should pay off. It’s been eight or nine seconds I think we played that way. It wasn’t a decisive incident but it’s still a bit weird.
“It’s normal for the fans to discuss that,” Nagelsmann said. “I know who is to blame but I won’t mention them and do you this favour. I’m glad we won.”
Freiburg coach Christian Streiche said his team had no plans to appeal the ruling.
“My expectation is that we won’t have to appeal anything,” Streiche said.
“We stick to those rules and that’s all I’m going to say about them.”
It was not clear if there would be any consequences for the Bavarian team, as referee Dingert said he had noted the incident in the match report.
“The wrong number was displayed so Koeman didn’t feel like he was referring to it,” said Dengert. “While clarifying the situation between the team and the referee, the player’s dismissal was neglected. This is very annoying.”
“We boycotted the match. It took a little longer to clear it up. That’s why we had eight minutes of injury time. We noted in the match report that this is what happened.
In the 16 seconds [Coman played on] Not much has happened and it is now up to colleagues in the German Football Association.”
Bayern’s victory put them at the top of the table with nine points, with six games remaining.
