BAS reiterates its commitment towards boosting community integration

Manama, Nov. 23 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) organized a visit to the Bahraini Down Syndrome Society to launch a travel simulation platform, as part of its continuous agreement to support the community and its members by promoting community integration. By hiring workers with special needs.

The visit took place in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BAS, Nabil Kanoo, the CEO of BAS Company, Muhammad Khalil, and the Director of the Down Syndrome Care Center, Ahmed Al-Ali, along with other members of both entities.

As part of the company’s agreement with the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society, a check-in platform was put in place within the organization to serve as a training simulation for employees with special needs.

Employed personnel will undergo the required training and skills development program to be able to successfully transition into a Customer Service Agent. The disabled employee will have to complete three months of training within the check-in simulator. Once the employee has successfully completed his training, he will then be able to carry out tasks on the ground at Bahrain International Airport. Special needs staff will be supervised by a special trainer on site to manage all activities.

“The corporate social responsibility initiative confirms our committed efforts to train Bahrainis through specialized training programmes, as well as create more job opportunities for various segments of society, including the Down Syndrome community,” said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BAS.

“We believe that this initiative will help achieve community integration, as well as develop the professional and social skills of Down Syndrome Association members through interaction with their new colleagues and clients.”
