Manama, March 8 (BNA) The CEO of Bahrain Airport Services Company (BAS) Mohammed Khalil announced the appointment and promotion of Bahraini women to leadership positions in various departments and departments of the company.


Recent appointments in the executive management have included Haneen Abdel Aziz, who was promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Hana Abdel Wahed as Head of Human Resources (CHCO).


Other notable appointments included Aisha Al Shirawi to the position of Director of Strategy and Project Management and further promotions included Fatima Al Bastaki to the position of Director of Financial Reporting, Payables and Controls, Laila Mokhtar to the position of Director of Internal Audit and Nasreen Qassem to the position of Director of Payroll.


These appointments enhance the position of Bahraini women in BAS and complement the company’s efforts to support the role of women by initiating the actual implementation of the Women Empowerment Support Strategy, which previously included the appointments of women to leadership positions including Hanan Edwards Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing and Sharifa Abdul Rahman as Director of Debtors and Value Tax Additive and treasury.


This coincided with the recent launch of the Equal Opportunity Committee of BAS which aims primarily to support women in the company by formulating empowerment strategies, reviewing ways and mechanisms that can contribute to achieving gender balance, integrating women’s needs, and enhancing the company’s ability to attract females and keep them. talent.


Khalil stressed that the formation of the Equal Opportunities Committee reflects the executive management’s belief in the importance of enhancing the role of women in the workforce in line with the principles set by the Supreme Council for Women.


Khalil added that the committee aims to support the trends of the national model for gender balance and to integrate women’s needs into career development by adopting and publishing qualitative reports on gender balance in the company, and developing policies, strategies, initiatives and services, such as adopting flexible working hours for female employees to reconcile family and professional life, and other initiatives that enable the integration of women’s needs.


The CEO commended the committee members representing the various departments and divisions of BAS, expressing his hope that the members would achieve the committee’s goals and come up with initiatives that would advance and achieve gender balance in a planned and successful manner.
