Barcelona, Dec. 30 (BNA): The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Barcelona team swelled to 10 on Thursday, which could jeopardize the team’s return to play in the league after Spain’s nearly two-week winter break.
Meanwhile, in England, Saturday’s match between Leicester and Norwich in the Premier League was postponed because Norwich did not have the numbers required to play as a result of COVID-19 cases and injuries. This is the 17th league game to be canceled last month.
Barcelona said that Serginho Dest, Philippe Coutinho and Abdel Zalzoli are the latest players to contract with Covid-19. They are self-isolating at home and the team said they are “in good health”.

French club Angers has asked the Football League to postpone its home match against Saint-Etienne on January 9 due to the high number of coronavirus cases.
Angers said there were 19 confirmed cases among his 30-player squad and that more than 10 would not be allowed to play again until Jan. 10, and Angers added that five other members were infected with the virus.
Angers was out of fives with COVID-19 when he lost in Montpellier 4-1 on December 22 before the winter break.
Strasbourg said coach Julien Stephan has the virus but is asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta wrote on Instagram that he tested positive while on vacation in Dubai and is in isolation there.
