Bahrain’s preparations to participate in COP26 discussed

Manama, September 28 / BNA / The Chairman of the Sustainable Energy Authority, Dr. Abdul-Hussein bin Ali Mirza, received today the regional ambassador of the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2021 (COP26) for the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe. and Central Asia, Janet Rogan, in the presence of the UK Ambassador to Bahrain, Rudy Drummond.

Dr. Mirza welcomed the delegation and praised the efforts made by the United Kingdom to make the COP26 conference a success, with the aim of uniting global efforts to confront climate change, praising the role played by the United Kingdom Embassy in Bahrain to coordinate with the concerned government. Departments and ministries about the Kingdom’s participation in the climate change summit.

Dr Mirza and Ambassador Janet Rogan discussed the Kingdom’s preparations to participate in COP26 scheduled to take place in Glasgow in November.

The Chairman of the Atomic Energy Authority briefed the UK delegation on the Kingdom’s achievements in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The regional ambassador of the 26th Conference of the Parties praised Bahrain’s achievements in record time, praising the great role played by the Sustainable Energy Authority in this regard, which emphasizes the Kingdom’s serious steps in addressing climate change.

She affirmed her country’s support for Bahrain’s efforts to enhance its contribution to international efforts to confront climate change.
