Bahrain’s pavilion opens at Expo 2020 Dubai

Dubai, October 1 (BNA) The National Pavilion of the Kingdom of Bahrain was officially opened today as part of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The pavilion, titled “Sharp Opportunities”, displays the ancient civilization, history and economy of Bahrain.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the Chairperson of the Pavilion, Commissioner-General Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.

The ceremony was also attended by the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, representatives of the pavilions of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, diplomats and media professionals.

In a statement on this occasion, the head of the Bahrain Culture Authority stressed Bahrain’s message to the world, stressing the importance of culture in making miracles, strengthening nations, and spreading hope in a world recovering from a crisis that ravaged all aspects of life.

She said: “The Kingdom of Bahrain is present with all its heritage and ancient history embodied in our pavilion, which reflects the beauty of our architecture, our past and our modern civilizational innovations.”

She praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, praising the royal support for Bahrain’s participation in this huge global event. She also praised the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to place the Kingdom of Bahrain on the map of the global economy.

The President of the British Airports Authority, Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, expressed her deepest thanks to the Emirate of Dubai and all the organizers of Expo 2020 Dubai.

He also thanked the authorities supporting culture in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the public and private entities that contributed to the Kingdom’s participation in this huge event for the region and the world.

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) is participating in the global event in partnership with the Economic Development Board (EDB), Gulf Air, the National Bank of Bahrain, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. , Danat, Tamkeen, Mumtalakat, Bahrain Export, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and Batelco.

The Bahrain Pavilion is located in the “Opportunities” area, while the other two areas are under “Mobility” and “Sustainability.”

Swiss architect Christian Keres was commissioned to design the pavilion in collaboration with Wanders Werner Falasi Consulting Architects.
