Bahrain’s human rights achievements outlined

Jeddah, May 23 (BNA): The Head of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a member of the Independent Permanent Committee for Human Rights in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed, met today Prof. Dr. Nora bint Zaid Mubarak Al-Rashoud. Executive Director of the Independent Standing Committee on Human Rights of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, at the Commission’s headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Al-Sayed congratulated Professor Al-Rashoud, on the occasion of her appointment as Executive Director of the Independent Standing Committee on Human Rights of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in early 2023, as the first woman to hold this position.

The ambassador expressed his commitment to exert all efforts as a member of the commission, highlighting opportunities for cooperation and plans that can be achieved through the commission.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Sayed highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pioneering steps in developing the National Plan for Human Rights.

Professor Al-Rashoud stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Arab and Islamic countries in the field of human rights
