Manama, November 13 (BNA) The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain concluded its participation in the twenty-sixth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held in Glasgow, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the sessions and discussions held on the sidelines of the twenty-sixth session of the Conference of the Parties, the delegation highlighted Bahrain’s achievements in protecting the environment and mitigating the effects of climate change, including renewable energy projects, water management, afforestation and adoption of the best initiatives. to achieve the sustainable development goals.

The delegation also held meetings with a number of officials and those interested in the fields of environment and climate change to enhance the Kingdom’s cooperation with countries and organizations.

The Bahraini delegation also participated in the meeting of the Group of 77 and China, the meeting on adaptation and mitigation of emissions, and discussions of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement on the safety of carbon markets. She also participated in side meetings related to reducing emissions and hydrogen.

The delegation included representatives from the Supreme Council for the Environment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the Ministry of Oil, the Sustainable Energy Authority, the National Oil and Gas Holding Company, and the Bahrain Petroleum Company.
