Bahraini-Russian parliamentary cooperation discussed

Manama, December 5 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal held today an expanded discussion session with the President of the Federal Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and her accompanying delegation.

They discussed parliamentary cooperation and joint action on the basis of signing bilateral agreements.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives affirmed that relations between Bahrain and Russia are solid and growing thanks to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Russian President Vladimir Putin. She affirmed the legislative authority’s support for all joint commercial and investment projects that are witnessing remarkable progress thanks to the government’s support under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. She noted the role of the joint committees of businessmen from the two countries.

The two sides discussed issues of common interest, including regional and international developments and the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and coordinate positions to enhance security and growth in the region and the world at large.

For her part, Valentina Matvienko thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives for inviting her to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain and for her generous and generous hospitality. She praised Bahrain as a modern civil state, stressing its influential role and respect in the international community. She also praised the kingdom’s democratic development under the leadership of His Majesty the King. She also praised the advancement of Bahraini women thanks to the support of His Majesty the King and the initiatives and efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
