Bahraini business delegation heads to Japan, South Korea

Manama, May 4 (BNA): A high-ranking delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, and supported by Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Al-Khalif, is heading to visit Japan. and South Korea on May 5-12.

Organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and supported by the Bahrain Economic Development Board, the visit aims to add value across a multi-year investment horizon in line with the economic recovery plan to deliver sustainable benefits to Bahrain’s investment climate, economy and society as a whole.

The visit will bring together a team of experts from Bahrain’s public and private sectors to promote high-impact investment opportunities in Bahrain, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and the Bahrain Economic Development Board.

The delegation will be supported by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), Nogaholding, Alba, Export Bahrain and Bahrain-based Gulf Aluminum Rolling Mill (GARMCO).

The visit also aims to strengthen economic and trade relations with the two countries, with a focus on key economic sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, logistics, information and communication technology, and tourism.

A dynamic range of events, field visits and strategic meetings are planned for the delegation to network with influential government counterparts and representatives of leading companies with a guaranteed global reputation.

The Bahrain Economic Development Board is hosting two major events in Tokyo to highlight investment opportunities.

The first exclusive roundtable meeting will be held in collaboration with the Japan-Bahrain Economic Cooperation Association (JBECA) with selected senior executives, while the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will co-host the business forum titled ‘Access to Opportunities’. In the MENA region via Bahrain and invite key stakeholders from leading companies in Japan and participate in two panel discussions. The first panel discussion will highlight investment opportunities in Bahrain, while the second panel will focus on “From Bahrain to the World: Success Stories from Japanese Industry Leaders”.

The Bahrain Economic Development Board will organize a forum and networking event to discuss mutually beneficial investment opportunities in cooperation with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Seoul. The forum will witness sessions delivered by prominent members of the delegation, including a live conversation to discuss the strategic value of Bahrain in enabling companies to access markets in the Middle East and North Africa region and beyond.

“Economic diversification and innovation are two main pillars of economic growth in Bahrain, and this visit of the coordinated delegation aims to secure new business opportunities across focused sectors, which will enable Bahrain to form strategic partnerships with Japan and South Korea, and to promote strong economic and trade relations,” said the Minister of Industry.
