London, March 1 (BNA) The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa attended the reception hosted by Sir Lindsey Hoyle, Speaker of the British House of Commons, for a number of ambassadors. Accredited to the friendly UK and Parliamentarians, at the Palace of Westminster in London.
During the reception, the Speaker of Parliament, Sir Lindsey Hoyle, delivered a welcoming speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the ambassadors, briefed them on the latest developments in the British Parliament, and reviewed the latest regional and international developments of common interest.
The attendees also toured the facilities and parts of the Palace of Westminster, and were briefed on the ancient history of the palace, whose opening dates back to 1808 AD, and the process of rebuilding it in 1859 AD after it was damaged before. Fire destroyed the British Parliament in 1834 AD.
