Bahrain wins bronze medal in World Sambo Championships

Tashkent, November 16 (BNA): Ramadan Kodzhakov won the bronze medal in the World Sambo Championships, placing Bahrain first in the Arab world, fifth in Asia and tenth globally in the final ranking of the national teams participating in the men’s championship. The class took place from November 8 to 14 in Tashkent.

The tournament was organized by the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) in cooperation with the Asian Sambo Federation (ASF) and the Uzbek Sambo Association.

Vice-President of the Public Sports Authority and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Combat Games Council, Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, praised the achievement of the Sambo team in the World Sambo Championship.

He expressed his pride in the team, saying that this achievement adds to the series of Bahraini Sambo’s achievements regionally and internationally.

He said that the team’s victory reflects the support of His Majesty the King and the keenness of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister and the efforts made by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs. Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, who contributed to raising the level of sports and athletes and encouraging achievements that shed light on sports successes in Bahrain.
